The Calendar Year of 2008 started with a business meeting at Tempura Resto, Banawe st, Quezon City last January 8, 2008, where important matters were discussed like the list of consultant staff, money matters and the delegation of residents position for year 2008.
For 2008 the Surgery department is still headed by Dr. Vicente R. Porciuncula as the chairman; Dr. Denton Reyes as training officer. Residents are Dr. Louie P. Lantan as chief resident; Dr. Grace Dioso as the associate chief resident and other residents are Dr. Merly Andalecio; Dr. Gilbert Robin; Dr. Christopher Castell; Dr. Albert Aquino; Dr. Aurelio Plamengco and Dr. Darwin Oandasan. What is significant for this year is the big number of residents to handle this year of surgical training.
Just as the Surgical Department is ready to face the many challenges in the department, support and help from different consultant staff are needed by the residents for their formal training in surgery likewise with the constant accreditation of the department by the PSGS.
